Homewood PTA will be starting their latest Schwans campaign on Monday, February 20th. This campaign will be titled “Churchill School”, campaign # 31487. Schwans has a wide variety of frozen foods that fit every lifestyle. Whether you’re looking for a quick meal, breakfast that your kids will love, appetizers for a get-together, Heart Healthy menu options or delicious desserts and ice creams, Schwans has it all. The best part is that Schwans delivers right to your door, with deliveries to Homewood every 2 weeks! Do you have friends or family members that live out of state? Schwans is a national company, so let them know that they can order, and help out our campaign as well! Homewood PTA will earn 20% of all product sales and 40% of all gift cards sales until April 6, 2017. Please consider ordering from this campaign, as all proceeds go directly back to the students at all three schools, in the form of enrichment activities and assemblies.

Warm holiday greetings to the Homewood school community. It’s hard to believe that the 201 6/17 school year is almost half way through! The Homewood PTA is delighted to continue to play an integral role in the social and educational development of our children in District 153. This, however, could not be possible without awesome volunteers like you.
Whether you served as a book fair volunteer, PBIS WOW cart, graduation gown measurement, provided delicious treats for teachers and administrators, do AVIC presentations, wore the bee costume, helped with or supported our fundraisers, or simply signing up to be a member of the PTA, every aspect of what you do, embody the very spirit of our PTA.
In addition to welcoming our new families, we also welcome new members to the PTA Board who, along with returning Board members, are making tremendous contributions of their time and talent, to see to the effectiveness and continuity of this organization. There are still many volunteer opportunities available.
Our next General Meeting will be January 12, 2017. Special guests will be members of the H-F High School administration, and the H-F Parent Association. Pertinent information regarding transitioning to, and navigating the rigors of high school will be communicated. There will also be opportunities for you to get your questions answered. Please join us.
Thank you all for your continued support of the Homewood PTA. Have a blessed holiday season.
President, Homewood PTA
Reflections is a National PTA arts program that asks students to create works of art in any of the following categories:
The theme this year is “What Is Your Story?”
For the program, students can create as many projects as they like, in as many categories as they like. All entries must be submitted to the Homewood PTA through the student’s local school office by December 1. Projects will then advance through a judging system through council, district, region, state and national levels of the program. Notification of student progress through the levels will occur as updates are received from the Illinois PTA. Official program rules, a student entry form, and a themed poster are attached to this email for your review and use.
A final celebration will occur at SPOTLIGHT ’17 at Millikin University on Saturday, May 13 in Decatur, Illinois. The day will consist of a free celebration of arts for all children in Illinois, and will include arts workshops, Reflections galleries, and student recognition.
My very best,
