Reflections – Let Your Imagination Fly

The kids are all home from school this week and there is snow everywhere. Help the kids beat the boredom and do something other than play on electronics by letting them express their creativity. PTA Reflections is a program from the PTA designed to engage students in the arts.

PTA 2015/2016 Reflections - Let Your Imagination Fly

So what is Reflections?

A new theme to draw creativity out of the students is given each year. This year’s theme is Let Your Imagination Fly and that’s truly what students should do. Students should give their imaginations free rein to develop this idea.

We’re interested, now what?

REFLECT on the theme. CREATE art. BE RECOGNIZED!

Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade students are encouraged to submit original works of art in one or more of the following categories:
(General rules can be found in English here or Spanish here. Click on each link for specific rules.)

  • Dance Choreography (SPA)
  • Film Production (SPA)
  • Literature (SPA)
  • Musical Composition (SPA)
  • Photography (SPA)
  • Visual Arts (SPA)
  • Special Artist (SPA)

Submissions and entry forms for Reflections are due on Wednesday, December 2nd. Your child can turn them in at school. Entry forms can be found in English here or Spanish here.

A Thanksgiving Message From Our President

Fall Leaves

The Homewood PTA is privileged and humbled to be able to continue to serve Homewood School District 153.   As we approach this Thanksgiving season, I would like to take this opportunity to express how thankful I am to the PTA Board members, and the host of other PTA members who volunteer in so many different capacities within the schools.  All this would not have been possible without the dedication and commitment of our wonderful volunteers.  Your time, effort, patience and creativity are priceless, and have not gone unnoticed.

Thanks also to the local businesses and other interest groups that have partnered with the PTA to help us realize our goals for our children.  Thanks also to the schools administrators, teachers and other support staff.  Most importantly, the PTA thanks the schools for affording us the opportunity to be so integrally involved in enriching the curriculum and fostering the well-being of our children.

I wish for you all a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.

Ann-Marie Webster
